“Hi! I'm Dominika. I'm in 4th grade and I love karate more than almost anything.”
On school days I do homework first, then I go to the dojo. I speak English and Russian, I play chess with my dad, and I really like mental math — my coach says it helps me stay calm in kumite too.
When I'm not training, I build worlds in Roblox with my friends and I watch videos of the best karate athletes over and over so I can learn their timing.
Karate is my favorite place to be. It taught me to bow, to lose, to try again, and to believe that one day I can stand on the biggest tatami in the world.

Dad works in telecommunications, climbing towers and spending long stretches away on work trips. Mom is a QA Engineer. Between shifts, school runs and late-night packing for tournaments, the whole family invests their time, energy and resources into Dominika's path.

Her dad works in telecommunications, including work on communication towers, and frequently spends time away from home on business trips. Her mom works professionally as a QA Engineer while also helping manage the everyday commitment that comes with raising and supporting a young competitive athlete.
Together, they make countless sacrifices behind the scenes — creating opportunities for Dominika to train, compete, travel, learn, and continue chasing bigger goals.
